This Mountain Goat kid is getting ready for winter. On this early September dawn the wind was howling and the temperatures were well below freezing, but this young goat wasn't phased in the least! Photographed at the summit of Mount Evans, high in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.
I have long enjoyed traveling with my husband across the United States to photograph and enjoy wildlife and nature. A retired elementary school teacher, I hold a masters degree in Arts Integration. My retirement from teaching means more time to spend photographing the wildlife and landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the American West.
