Artist's Description
We heard their hooves pounding up over the hill, and turned just in time to catch an epic battle between two wild mustang stallions of Sand Wash Basin. This fight was fierce and lasted several minutes. In the end, they both ran off in separate directions with no clear winner. In the spring, energy is high, and action can be intense. This is the way of wild horses in the west. This image was featured in my 2020 Wild Mustang Calendar

I have long enjoyed traveling with my husband across the United States to photograph and enjoy wildlife and nature. A retired elementary school teacher, I hold a masters degree in Arts Integration. My retirement from teaching means more time to spend photographing the wildlife and landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the American West. Sharing the stories of the wild mustangs of the west is a particular passion of mine. To spend time photographing wild horses is a dream come true. Recently, we moved to Bella Vista in NW Arkansas.
