Artist's Description
In contrast to his mighty speed and power, this massive bison bull rests peacefully in the prairie grass. Photographed at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, this bull is part of a herd of genetic lines of buffalo that go back thousands of years to the times when buffalo that roamed western North America.
About Mindy Musick King
I have long enjoyed traveling with my husband across the United States to photograph and enjoy wildlife and nature. A retired elementary school teacher, I hold a masters degree in Arts Integration. My retirement from teaching means more time to spend photographing the wildlife and landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the American West. Sharing the stories of the wild mustangs of the west is a particular passion of mine. To spend time photographing wild horses is a dream come true. Recently, we moved to Bella Vista in NW Arkansas. The Ozark Region is rich with history and photo opportunities. It has opened up a whole new area to explore that I am excited to share through my images.
