Description

These tiny Broad-tailed hummingbirds migrate every summer to Colorado's Rocky Mountains all the way from southern Mexico and Guatemala where they spend their winters. This image was captured on my deck in Park County Colorado at an elevation of 9,000 ft. I used a fast shutter speed to slow the motion of the wings, showing only a slight blur of the 50 beats per second!
