A majestic Mountain Goat and her kid are silhouetted by the rising sun from the summit of Mount Evans high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The morning temperatures were below 30 degrees and the wind was blistering, but these Mountain Goats were in their element. As I sat crouched on a low rock, sheltered from the gusty winds, I saw them step up onto the mountain's edge and look over the vista below. I was so caught up in the moment, I almost forgot to snap the shutter.
I have long enjoyed traveling with my husband across the United States to photograph and enjoy wildlife and nature. A retired elementary school teacher, I hold a masters degree in Arts Integration. My retirement from teaching means more time to spend photographing the wildlife and landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the American West. Sharing the stories of the wild mustangs of the west is a particular passion of mine. To spend time photographing wild horses is a dream come true. Recently, we moved to Bella Vista in NW Arkansas. The Ozark Region is rich with history and photo opportunities. It has opened up a whole new area to explore that I am excited to share through my images.
