When a cardinal pays you a visit it is seen as a good omen, a sign of love and hope. I was photographing birds in the falling snow and first the male and then the female cardinal would land in this tree. I have never been able to photograph a pair of cardinals together, and I was wishing they would both land in the tree together, and then this happened! It truly was a special moment.
I have long enjoyed traveling with my husband across the United States to photograph and enjoy wildlife and nature. A retired elementary school teacher, I hold a masters degree in Arts Integration. My retirement from teaching means more time to spend photographing the wildlife and landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the American West. Sharing the stories of the wild mustangs of the west is a particular passion of mine. To spend time photographing wild horses is a dream come true.
