The wild mustang stallion known as Rigel gallops across the sage flats of Sand Wash Basin in northwestern Colorado. This remote area of Colorado now known as Sand Wash Basin has been home to wild mustangs for hundreds of years. This image was featured in my 2020 Wild Mustang calendar.

I have long enjoyed traveling with my husband across the United States to photograph and enjoy wildlife and nature. A retired elementary school teacher, I hold a masters degree in Arts Integration. My retirement from teaching means more time to spend photographing the wildlife and landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the American West. Sharing the stories of the wild mustangs of the west is a particular passion of mine. To spend time photographing wild horses is a dream come true. Recently, we moved to Bella Vista in NW Arkansas. The Ozark Region is rich with history and photo opportunities. It has opened up a whole new area to explore that I am excited to share through my images.
