Tiny broad-tailed hummingbirds migrate every summer to Colorado's Rocky Mountains all the way from southern Mexico and Guatemala where they spend their winters. This image was captured at a friend's home in the SW Denver metro area. She had returned to this nest for several years, and they named her Jewels.
I have long enjoyed traveling with my husband across the United States to photograph and enjoy wildlife and nature. A retired elementary school teacher, I hold a masters degree in Arts Integration. My retirement from teaching means more time to spend photographing the wildlife and landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the American West. Sharing the stories of the wild mustangs of the west is a particular passion of mine. To spend time photographing wild horses is a dream come true. Recently, we moved to Bella Vista in NW Arkansas.
