Description
One of the greatest migrations in North America is the migration of Sandhill Cranes. They spend their winters in the warmer southern states, and migrate north to breed in the northern United States and Canada. One wintering spot is Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. Every winter, thousands of cranes call Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge home. Located in central New Mexico along the Rio Grande River, birders and photographers journey here to enjoy the sights and sounds. Here I captured two cranes flying back to the pond in the evening light.
